Frequently Asked Questions
(info@neccc.net )。
Q: Why are registration fees reduced?
A: Registrations fees do not include lodging and meal
expenses. They are used to cover usage of conference facilities,
speaker expenses, children (3-11 years old) program and
nursery care for infants (0-3 years old). In the past years, registration fees balanced
above expenses outlay almost perfectly. In consideration of
special financial needs of a small number of families and to
encourage brothers and sisters to attend the retreat, however, the
conference planning committee has decided to reduce registration
fees. Other offerings are on free-will basis.
Q: How should registration forms be filled out if a family has
members attending the Mandarin Track and other members attending
the English Track, respectively?
A: If a family has some members attending the Mandarin Track
and others attending the English track, separate Mandarin Track
registration form and English Track registration form should be
filled out to facilitate the conference preparation. But please
do not repeat meals and lodging usage information on the
two forms.
Q: Is it OK to meet guests or get out of then get into the
Cafeteria?
A: The Cafeteria is used for dining purpose only. The host
university had placed staff to count the number of conference
attendees using the Cafeteria. In the past, the
dining counts by the Cafeteria staff did not match the meals
counts by the registration, because some retreat attendees met
guests at the Cafe, or got out of and got into the
Cafeteria during the meal, resulting double-counting sometimes.
As a result, please do not meet guests in the Cafeteria.
Also, please give the counting staff at the entrance a heads up
to avoid being double-counted if you need to get out and then in again.
The conference is planning to issue meal tickets.
Q: Does
the the lodging have cooking facilities?
A: If you register early and are assigned to a townhouse
room, you may use kitchen facility in the assigned townhouse
unit to prepare for light and quick meals. Using the cafeteria,
however, can be a great and convenient time saver if you’re
accustomed to American food. If you use the cafeteria for only
certain meals, please indicate such clearly.
Q: Please
briefly introduce the English Track program.
A: In addition to Mandarin track programs, English track
programs are held
concurrently, For Youth (12+ years old) and adult English speaking
attendees, the English track offers full-fledged programs
including keynote sessions, workshops, and activities. If you or
your family members would like to attend English Track, please
English Track Registration Form to register.
Q: Please
briefly introduce the Children's program and the nursery
care.
A: The Children's Program is designed for kids between 3 and
11 years old. The program is led by
experienced English speaking coworkers. The conference also
provides nursery care for infants (0 -3 years old). There
are no charges for either of the above programs.
Q: Are
there any opportunities to serve in the retreat?
A: The retreat preparation team need help in the
following areas: video recording / processing, registration
helpers (preparing name badges), choir members,
etc. Please contact coordinators in your respective churches or
email us at info@neccc.net .
